It can do. Winking at the wrong person can result in a punch that may well land on an eye.

To be honest we were awful throughout this World Cup. How were we expecting to beat Germany when we struggled against teams like USA and Algeria is beyond me?
Regardless of the goal that wasn't, we still would have been outplayed and outclassed.
Oh, well. Another tournament of shattered dreams.

I have to agree I have stopped watching the cup now. Australia got some lousy calls and yes I agree it was a goal that the English got, our boys really got some bad calls. I think someone needs to buy new eye glasses for the ref's seeing eye dog.!!!!!!!

Yes, true, but even if the ref wasn't a thumbless hitchhicker, England would have still lost. Because we were crap.
This was probably the worst team Germany has ever fielded.
So that can give an indication of just how rubbish England played.
There is only one way to solve this. No win no fee,
I bet they would start playing really well if that was how they got paid.

Not the worst German team. I think 1998 ranks up there. But all the same, England had much more experience but not the ability to utilize it.

Oddly, I like the human error factor. Frustrating I'll grant you, but this whole idea of stopping the game and having a run at slow motion replays is a flop for me. Here's another controversial, and slightly tongue in cheek, thought. If the ref's are so bad, and you are so good, do the training and become the sort of ref you want.
