It was announced on the radio as I drove (aqua planed) to work, that it is officially the wettest week in the State on record.
I'm pleased that our house won't flood and so very sorry for the people in areas that are suffering yet again. As for the farmers and all the lost crops and livestock

Not bad at all Joy considering the rest of the country, just this morning the rain was so incredibly heavy for a while that the drains couldn't cope and our garden was like a pond. A lot of roads flooded and closed around the city.
Update - sun is actually out now. Hope it stays that way for the rest of the day.

I am glad LMG,
Just been listening to the updates on the news. Very grim for farmers.

Re: What did you find in your garden today?
Our Bradford Pear trees are blooming once again. They're really beautiful but their blooms stink! Unfortunately, nearly every house around us has at least 1-2 in each yard, so our whole area smells bad.
If they were fruit producing trees, I would be happy to deal with the smell, but these are just ornamental pears, so it's not even really worth it.
My Lenten rose is blooming, too, which also has a strong smell, but at least that one smells good. ![]()

Puddy, the longhaired cat who lives in the flat next door. She is smoky grey, and is lying flat on her back in the sun. I wish I could take a photo, but if I get close enough to focus... she will move.
She has her legs and tail stretched out front and back and her long whispy underbelly fluff shining in the morning sun.

I thought that you might weave it in the ancient way....
I weave hazel withies to edge the borders with, but for this I need something I can kneel on whilst weeding the beds. 2" thick wood will be just wide enough to lean my poor old knees on, & will be 16" high, so won't be as bad on my back either. 4" posts will be thick enough to make the beds nice & strong too.
Haven't been able to build the beds this week, went to use my drill & it refused to work (it's not quite as old as me, but definately getting there!), so will go & buy a new one tomorrow all being well.
