Tastes way too salty
Hi,
I have just made a rocket pesto to go with bass, with anchovies. It is too salty.
Does anyone know how I could try and balance this out a bit please?
Thanks

Try adding something sweet and/or lemon juice.

Re: Tastes way too salty
It will be the amount of anchovy that you have used...........if you add (in total) twice the other ingredients, it will become a sauce that is 1/2 as salty.
The upside to this is that you would have enough pesto remaining to make another meal.

Mada, that works when the sauce can be simmered...not when it is cold ![]()

Re: Tastes way too salty
Add sweet to reduce salty taste. Better to not add so much salty taste to begin with.
Let us know what your choice was.
