Check out my Valentines thread mate... Anna has shared a cool story about her edible knickers that I am sure she wouldn't mind you telling the world...
Not romantic, but it made me laugh

Re: Tell me about your perfect Valentine's!
My favourite Valantines Cake is a Rum/Pecan/Raisin/Dark Chocolate Cake, which I use an old heart shaped tin my mother used when I was a kid. For icing I melt Cadbury Guinea Gold family size bar to completely enclose it, topped with chocolate leaves. It is best made a couple of days in advance.
Wins hearts every time. I don't even like chocolate but even I enjoy it.
As far as Valantines's Day itself goes, I'm a divorced cynic, hiding in the bush. Sorry. ![]()

Re: Tell me about your perfect Valentine's!
Aloha all, especially James.. Well my perfect Valentine's Day was a few years ago.. Was on a private beach here in Australia on the East Coast, where we both went snorkling and caught fresh seafood, including oysters.. I had a few things in the hut kitchen so threw it together out on the beach fire.. Had great food, wine and talked, on a isolated private beach and slept under the stars by the fire..
Should tell lyou what was on the menu.. Had Champagne Mignonnette for entree.. Which was made up of oysters with a shallot, champagne and rice wine vinegar sauce / marinade.. For our main meal we had Lobster on an Asian Vegetable Slaw with a Mango Red Chili Sauce.. For dessert we just had strawberries.. I made this in our kitchen the following year, except with Chocolate covered Strawberries.. These recipes can be found in my Chronicles, Topic #36..:

Re: Tell me about your perfect Valentine's!
Well Mrs Gibba seems to be getting all excited about the new podcast tomorrow and this thread. I've been ordered to come on-line and have a peek, now I see it's about valentine's day - have I been stitched up???
I guess I do have some making up to do after breaking down on the way home to Mrs Gibba cooking me a nice Jamie meal last year. But I guess I'd much rather be at home than stuck on the M3 any night!
As you can tell, possibly being a bloke doesn't help, but I don't go a whole load on Valentine's day. I think having a day set aside for whatever it's supposed to represent is just pants. That's more because I like to do this sort of thing way more often than once per year on a set date. For example, on Saturday I made fresh pasta and turned that into a cracking bolognese to munch through after the rugby - what a night!
So I guess my perfect evening (Valentine's or otherwise) would be something along that line. Good Italian food which we both love and a decent bottle of wine.

Re: Tell me about your perfect Valentine's!
Hi Jamie
Perfect Valentine's for me includes a lovely dinner at home, enjoyed by all - hubby and the young Lunas. Candlelight, wine, music... time to chat, share the day, simply enjoying each other's company.
This year a seafood linguine, shrimp, scallops, bit of smoked salmon...
