Hey Valeriea! How are you? So you live in Pagrati?! My cousin and my best friend live there! I live in Peristeri & Zorzou in Aigaleo, near my area.
Here 's the recipe I know for Skaltounia!
You need:
1 kg flour
1 glass corn oil
1 glass orange juice
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 glass sugar
marmelade (whatever taste you wish)
Knead well until the paste is tight. Make thin sheets from it. In order to have the same size you can open each sheet and cut it with the same object (a glass for example) in order to have round sheets.
In each sheet put 1 teaspoon of marmelade. Roll up the sheets, in a shape of half-moon. Put in a large baking pan graseproof paper and then place the skaltsounia.
Bake in 180C for 30 minutes (until they get browned).
When they're ready powder them with powdered sugar.
I think you and your husband gonna like it!!
Good luck! ![]()

One quick clarification for English speakers:
Marmalade when used in Greek actually means jam as opposed to marmalade, which the Brits call any (usually) citrus fruit based preserve. If you're across the pond, this is in fact jelly, which is what the Brits call Jello

Yes Zorzou you are right about Pagrati but I like the shops here. Sometimes I dream of GREEN GRASS in England! Pagrati is also near the centre so I often walk there. By the way I cook Greek food everyday and for myself sometimes English. My husband loves English fish & Chips and chinese food in England also!Happy Cooking,Valeriea. ![]()

Last time in Athens, I stayed in Kalithea. I remember being taken to a restaurant called Ta Gourounakia, Pretty good kebabs and a chocolate souffle to round it off. Must go back sometime.

I lived in Thessaloniki for 1 year and it was beautiful and green. Lovely tavernas also. I love Halkidiki. We hope to go back again. I also love the fresh fruit and markets here in Greece.
Valeriea.
