I live in Canada and Creme Fraiche is not an easy find here either.  Dairy is quite limited even though beef is a huge industry where I live.  Fresh vanilla pods are hard to find too and pretty expensive when you do find them.

I woundn't use ready bechamel MsP, in ten minutes you make one with quality ingredients or you do something else, this I've been told by our cuoco. The same with cream, use fresh cream or change recipe.
non panna da cucina, but fresh (with data di scadenza) panna da montare wink

Haloumi cheese--not in the USA except in very big urban areas.  Very little creme fraiche.

There are not only big differences between countries but big differences between urban and rural areas.  I recently moved from a population 5 million urban area to a population 8000 rural area.  I can't find Dutch processed cocoa powder.  No dried eggwhites for frosting.  No pork belly.  No veal bones.  No duck legs.  No brioche.  No rice chow fun noodles. No asian groceries.  No espresso powder.  No pepitos.  No long bone ribeyes for Christmas dinner.  No French olives.

But there's nobody shooting at me, either... big_smile

I can't find beef heart.  Organ meats aren't very popular in the USA, and even though I live near a big city, this is one treat I haven't yet been able to find.

Yes, it's me!

Can't stand anything coffee-flavoured but love the smell of real coffee.  Can't drink coffee either.

LMG - we must be long-lost siblings - I'm with you on the coffee thing.  Mocha I can do but only in very small amounts, and not very often.
