Re: Question from the Jamie Magazine team

I am a subscriber since issue 1.  I am just disappointed at the price 44 pounds to Canada  and UK is only 19 pounds + free cook book.  I love the magazine so I will still keep on subscribing, but it would be nice if we got something too for the price we pay   wink

Re: Question from the Jamie Magazine team

I received an annual subscription as a Christmas present. I won't be renewing it as it's too expensive to Australia, I've had problems with the Oz distributors (they don't return emails for one thing and don't pay any attention to the emails sent to them), it's too British, there's too much advertising which I know subsidises the magazine *and* when I last looked the majority of the stuff advertised wasn't shipped to Oz (though quite a bit of it is sold in the department stores here). Also, like Despina in Canada, I look at what UK subscribers pay and get in comparison to non-UK subscribers and get "cheesed off". Pity because if I wanted to buy the "odd" issue, I can't find a newsagent who stocks it in the major shopping centres of Newcastle. It was difficult enough finding it in the southern beaches of Sydney.

I have got every wonderful issue so far and enjoy spending some 'ME' time at home reading each issue from cover to cover.

Valid point raised Maree and Despina33.  I was amazed that a new subscription in the UK would receive a free copy of Jamie's America.   hmm

Re: Question from the Jamie Magazine team

To put what I said in perspective, the person who gave me the JO mag subscription (a Brit) was given a subscription to Australian Delicious by me earlier last year. I've subscribed to it since the first issue.

He complained about it being too Australian and having irrelevant advertising. Also, his subscription to the UK cost me more than double my own (local) subscription due to postage and handling fees (I guess). He didn't receive the "renew your subscription and receive two complimentary issues" offers or the annual Christmas special "renew and receive either a Delicious diary or calendar" offer.

Guess it's a case of "swings and roundabouts" hmm and shopping locally.

Re: Question from the Jamie Magazine team

I have bought every issue. Issue one I had to hunt down and found it in one shop here in Adelaide. I considered subscribing but it was prohibitively expensive.

Fortunately my wonderful news agent kept and eye out and it is now available from most news agents here in SA. He puts one aside for me. My only problem is we get them at least 6 weeks behind when they are released in the UK. I got issue 3 and 4 a week apart as issue 3 took so long to get here.

Now they are not so expensive I don't mind getting them bi- monthly, however, I wont be subscribing because the subscription offers here is just not worth it.

I am enjoying the magazines though.

Re: Question from the Jamie Magazine team

Hello,

I have bought the past few ones as I had the posibilty of someone bringing it over to me here in Spain. I quite like it, although I would prefer to have more recipes. Something I love about Jamie is the way he makes cooking so easy, his books and dvds are really well explained yet I found for me that there isnt enough explanation to the recipes in the magazine, something in my opinion is important. Maybe its because Im still learning a lot and I need a bit more. Apart from that though its very good . Go Jamie

Re: Question from the Jamie Magazine team

I just discovered the mag! I will be purchasing future issues! It's also what pointed me to this site! I've watched the cooking shows for years, have been inspired by the beautiful books, and now love to have all of this right at my fingertips! Great job!

Re: Question from the Jamie Magazine team

I bought the last 3 issues. I would have bought the first few but I couldn't find them anywhere. I didn't get it from the website because I find it to expensive that way. When it first came out I don't think anywhere in Ireland stocked it because i spent a whole day looking for it in about 30 different shops. I think it's a great mag and I read everybit of the ones I have and will be buying the future issues. I wouldn't mind getting my hands the ones I missed(for free) out on.
