Re: Whats For Supper?

Tarragon chicken boobs in a simmered chicken stock and a little cream base with fresh tarragon, garlic and white wine... served with white rice. Tastes great but it's going to be kind of a "beige" meal apart from the steamed broccoli. yummy

Re: Whats For Supper?

Tonight I browned some sausages in a pan with sliced onions, garlic, fresh sage and chilli. Removed the sausages and finished under the grill. Deglazed pan with some red wine vinegar, added some chicken stock and thickened with a little cornflour to finish off the sauce and returned cooked sausages to the pan.

Mini roasted potatoes with bacon, rosemary and garlic and steamed corn, baby peas, carrots and beans.

Re: Whats For Supper?

We had a particularly hearty minestrone and some excellent garlic bread (even though I forgot it until the soup was almost ready but my girl came and mixed and spread and it was excellent).
And she just might whip up some apple and raspberry crumble if she gets hungry enough! smile

Oh boy, any chance for an extra plate at your table??  whistle

Tonight, I'm making a warm potato salad with shallots, spring onions, baby spinach, rocket, watercress, a horseradish dressing (horseradish paste, little EVOO and cider vinegar + seasonings), and some flaked smoked mackerel fillets... and I think I'll grill a few slices of country bread with some garlic to go with that....  tongue

Minestrone.  Most likely topped with rather a lot of cheese.

Re: Whats For Supper?

I picked up a blade roast today so that's going to simmer away for a few hours.. then I'm making my famous brussel sprouts and probably some mashed potatoes. I have a pumpkin that I didn't carve so I was wondering if I could use it for soup???? It's not a huge one and I thought of adding carrots to it too?

My hubby was quite proud of his tarragon chicken... BOOBS! lol  lol The cookbook that I bought him is called, Slow Cooker: The Best Bookbook Ever, Diane Phillips. It's a great book if you are ever looking for a decent slowcooker book... and you can actually use more that 2 recipes from it  smile

I also picked up bulk http://www.flickr.com/photos/mezzoblue/1721674981/ these are molasses candy and although they are not everyone's fav. I LOVE them! lol  yummy

Re: Whats For Supper?

Last night we had leftovers as the night before we had a bit of a curry night with some family members invited in.

I made my lamb curry along with 2 chicken curries from "Indian in 6" - a made a creamy chicken curry that has amchoor & green chilli as flavourings & cinnamon chicken.
Plus we had saffron rice, homemade naan, minted yogurt raita, a chickpea salad, our usual tom, cuke & onion raita, and a selection of chutneys.

To follow this I made a rosewater, cardomom & honey dessert - I used a kulfi recipe as the base but served it set with gelatin like a pane cotta. Also thin slices of watermelon.

And because it was all so much fun I forgot to take photos so none of this is in my blog, so now I will just have to do it all again, soon. wink
