Re: Pizza Stones

I found this article awhile back on how to make your regular oven a pizza oven.
"Convert your range into a pizza oven"
http://www.latimes.com/features/food/la … 2963.story

"A pizza parlor in your kitchen"
http://www.latimes.com/features/food/la … 5374.story

I haven't tried it yet but it makes sense and seems like it's worth a try.

I have a pizza stone but I don't use it very often. Gonna have to pull it out and try the BBQ pizza though!

Oh, and to keep the sticking down a sprinkle of corn meal on the stone does the trick.

Re: Pizza Stones

I was given a "Weber pizza stone" for a birthday present, as my wife decided my pizza's although very good, needed a touch more authenticity etc. Well the moment arrived and the best ingredients chosen....The pizza stone was placed into the weber and the instructions where followed to the letter. Before I could place the pizza's into the oven, the stone cracked and this left me rather disappointed. thankfully I was able to get my money back, however I'm now without a stone and also looking for a spade or paddle to move the pizza's around etc. Any Ideas where I could purchase these from?.....I'm in Oxfordshire UK

Re: Pizza Stones

Interesting thread.  I bought a pizza stone recently when I saw them on clearance but have yet to use it.  I am hoping to use Jamie's pizza dough recipe this weekend and try it out for the first time.  Thanks for all the tips!  Especially the one about the corn meal.  I tend to always have a problem with dough sticking when I roll it out...
