Pancakes !
Yesterday was Shrove Tuesday , known to many as Pancake Day.
Do you prefer pancakes with a savory filling , or, pancakes with a sweet filling ?

maybe we can try to have a nice, normal discussion about pancakes this time! 
I like the sweet/savory combination, like thick pancakes with butter & maple syrup, with bacon on the side ... mmm ...

I love sweet: lemon & sugar and nutella my favourites.
I will still quite happily have a savoury pancake but I am not inspired to make them for myself.

Been having mine with homemade cranberry sauce and agave nectar. Haven't had them with savory except crepes, or as a kid, we did have sausages on the side or bacon. Might try cheese.

Oh forgot to mention that i love potato pancakes - german style with apple sauce...yummy!

MrP ,I had forgotten about the sweet savory combo as its not very common in the UK.
My family love this if we are in America.
The pancakes that I mostly cook , here in Cardiff , are the thin crepe style pancakes , these are quite easy to fill with savory fillings.
My husband always 'turns his nose up ' at the idea of a savory pancake , but when he is given some to eat he really enjoys them
Mostly I think he enjoys maple syrup ( and cream !!) on the pancakes or sugar and lemon.

My alltime favorite is the favorite of a typical German childhood: apple pancakes.
As a rare treat I love blueberry pancakes as well.
I also like them filled with a white mushroom sauce (another evergreen).
Or filled like my gran makes them: meat inside, flour based tomato sauce over it. (the sauce tastes like lasagne: tomato + bechamel sauce, only that it is all in one).
Leftover plain pancakes go into a clear soup (cut into little swirls) or I eat them with jam the next day (as a packed lunch).
