Just watched it now...love the "snake" almond and "Filo" pastry pudding...and the "Ready meals" in a pot where you just buy your pot, fill your pot at the market, then take it to the baker/oven keeper...or what would once have been known in France as a "Boulangier"
Correct my spelling Kye-in-France...

Re: Jamie Does... on TV in the UK
I enjoyed the show, I loved the idea of a Tangee (?) did I get the word right ?
The cooking pot bought in the market and started wondering if this method of cooking would also work overnight in the coal fire embers in a house in the UK !!
I love cooking in my Tagine , which is a large clay one , not quite as huge as the one shown with the family in the show, but not far off that size.
I was pleased to see that looking at the way it was being used by the family , I think I am cooking in it the right way !
I have also been thinking about all the passages around the city, I would think that apart from maximizing the space for housing , it also serves to keep the city cooler.
I was quite jealous of that trip , I would have loved to have been there and wandered about in those hidden culinary gems.

Re: Jamie Does... on TV in the UK
Caught a bit of it earlier, will have to 4od the segment on that snake-cake. I'd have to wait until I visit my parents to make it - they've got the counter space - but I know my mother would adore it. Both of us go crazy for rosewater. ![]()
