Re: Just got one.....
Living on the top of an apartment block does limit us a bit, especially when the wind gets up like it has today.
We're growing our own herbs, our recent additions are mint, rosemary, sage and thyme. We already have basil though our existing rosemary and mint are not looking so good.
The plan is to be self sufficient in herbs by the summer.

Re: Just got one.....
Congratulations! I love gardening and wish the US would start an allotment program. I've always wondered what you would do about watering, but maybe that's not a problem where you are. Is there water available if you need to, and who pays for it?

Re: Just got one.....
You pay a yearly rent of which ours is £11 ( for the year ) it has a water tap by every 4th plot which is all in with the rent ....you are not allowed to use a hosepipe only watering can....
I have bought some seeds i.e
lettuce 4 or 5 different ones
yellow courgette
pumpkin
marrow
cauliflower
sprouting broccoli (purple and a white one..never seen thoses in shops)
peppers hot and mild
carrots
tomatoes
pak choi
baby cucumbers
lots of herbs
found a shop selling them 2 for £1 ( making a saving of up to £2 on some of the seed packets)
Hubby will down load some pictures and I will post them!!
