Re: Gardening ~ What are you up to?

Need to get out and turn the compost in mine.
It's going to be so nice here tomorrow that I've decided that pruning of some trees and the grapes will get done.  Need a pro to come and do the apple but it's such a job and with the pellet stove broken and the plumbing we just have to set our priorities.

Re: Gardening ~ What are you up to?

I randomly scattered some Butternut Squash and Pumpkin seeds in my front yard about two months ago. I wanted to dry them, but I forgot about them and now I have two small plants growing from these forgotten seeds n.n
I know they are pumpkin plants because I tried my luck with them last year but none of them survived u.u hopefully this time they will n.n
I also got my strawberries growing (already ate one) and my basil is lovelier than ever n.n

Re: Gardening ~ What are you up to?

Thanks for the link CE  thumbsup   I'll try and make some of that solution and see if I can save the roses.

I bought a replacement pot of herb seedlings at the weekend and now the weather has cooled down (for this week at least) I'm hoping they will establish nicely.  I need basil  smile

Re: Gardening ~ What are you up to?

My fiance names his motorbikes.  But that's about all we do.  I've never named any sort of bin before.  It could be fun ... 'Nigel's eaten the dinner scraps, and the bin-man's been round for Bob to puke into'.   big_smile

Budgeting is such a drag, isn't it Eddie.

Good luck, LMG.  I need basil too, but I'm going away down south for five weeks soon, so I won't plant any until I get back.

Re: Gardening ~ What are you up to?

I planted lettuce seeds ~ again! This time the nursery woman gave me one of their trays to put over them so to stop the pesky blackbird from nipping them out as soon they appear!
I also planted basil seedlings. It is way too late I know, but hopefully I can get a couple of months of leaves from them. I have missed basil so much, I usually plant it three months ago!
And I popped in a couple of bush beans. I will plant more when I have sorted out my pots better.

A productive morning in the garden and now to breakfast! smile

I'm trying to clear the overgrowth of lemon balm and seeded italian parsley. Then I will have a look at replacing or repotting the other herbs.
