MMM frogs. I've never had "farm raised" frogs. We always go out and get our own.
We get our own too, but I have seen frog legs in our grocery store. Not sure where they come from - I guess from a farm??
When we lived in Maine, we had a stream in our backyard and the bullfrogs would be super loud in the spring. One year, we had hundreds of pollywogs back there - until one morning I looked outside and there was a huge racoon scooping them up and eating them as fast as he could. ![]()

It wasn't biblical in size, unlike some of the other migrations noted. Somewhere has a crab migration, anyone have that experience?

We never used a gig....we just smacked them on the head with a paddle and tossed them in a sack.

Blimey! As a marker of Spring I think I'll stick to observing bees!
Frogs just live in my garden to eat bugs. 'Nuff said! ![]()

Don't think I could bring myself to kill a frog. They are getting pretty rare anyway, cane toades are taking over the country.

I shouldn't have said that "we" get our own here - it's really OH and sometimes DS. I have no idea how he gets them (don't want to know). He just gives me the legs to cook.
I don't think I could ever bring myself to kill a frog either (or any other animal for that matter).

I'm guessing that would change if starvation was around the corner ![]()
