Re: Moule a manque pans?
I think that yours and mine should get together....husbands that is.
Mine is a goldmine in History....and has a great head for Culture. One son is trying to talk him plus his elder brother to sign in for one of those TV things to win a million or whatever...between them its sure that they wont leave empty handed.

Can I add my husband to that group too? He is so clever, but has been banned from the kitchen.
He is too big and awkward to be in there safely, he blunts knives and has no sense of how to work the gadgets especially the hot plates and oven ones ![]()

Re: Moule a manque pans?
Mince scroll down a bit to 8 x 4" pans. About the middle of the page just before the loose bottom (or two piece) pans.
http://www.fantes.com/cake-pans-round.html
I'm assuming the pic here is related to that product
http://www.fantes.com/images/17641cake_pans_round.jpg
Apart from that I searched high and low and came to the conclusion...
...order preformed or paper baking molds
http://www.novacartusa.com/mold.html
....or order custom pans Crown says min order is 50 though ![]()
http://www.crowncookware.ca/bakeware/ro … e-pans.htm
http://www.lockwoodmfg.ca/custom_cakepan.htm
...or find sauce pans that can be used in the oven and suit your needs
http://www.vollrathco.com/catalog_produ … amp;cid=48
...or way down near the bottom is a small blass bundtform pan 8" x 4 1/4"
http://fantes.com/tube-pans.html
What are you going to be preparing anyway? ![]()

Re: Moule a manque pans?
Thankyou all for your time spent on this.
Pak ....nantes wont ship here. i think the sauce pan idea is worth looking into
Its the sloping sided pans I want for fondant and chocolate to run down smoothly, straight sides needs palette knife help and resulting tram lines and is just wrong. Glass ? not sure how good a conduct of heat and genoise would bake.. mmm?
kye.. I guess I have no choice to keep using what I have but they are so fragile and split, more repairs than original bits, they have been used 3 days a week for 31 years
crickey wheres the time gone
and Mummza...I do have the charlotte russe pans and they would be just the job but they dont come any wider to replace these old pans.
If the blerdy government wouldnt keep moving the goal posts I'd retire.
But thank you all so much
Now this'll make you smile. I looked to see if there are metal working evening or workshop courses to enrol and make my own, how difficult could it be I'm thinking, nothing doing. Steel oil drum drum was the closest
I do like a carnival

Re: Moule a manque pans?
Love African dance...need to move and get back into carnivals....
son is 'into' welding things... he might be able to help.
Erm
cant imagine what the importance is to have the fondant running down the sides, if its piled in properly, its in...when cooked it slides out but in a solid manner....dont do like i did today without looking i poored the cake mix in the cake tin, this one has a hole in the middle to make a cake ring
scooped what i could off the tray underneath ![]()

Re: Moule a manque pans?
Q: Email some of the bigger pan manufacturers, tell them what you want & ask their advice. They might not make what you want, but they do all the trade shows (& have a fair idea what the competition is producing)....a long shot, I know, but what have you got to lose?
Have you thought about the relevent trade shows at the NEC? If you want a fair few????
