Re: Whats For Supper?

Hopefully something easy, it's been a rough day and our dishwasher has died and there are other kitchen dilemmas.  I just want to look away and I may never cook again, that would be fine with me.

You will cook again! Sorry about the dishwasher  sad

I live in an apartment and I haven't used mine in over 2 years, because it seemed to leave the dishes dirtier than when they went in.

Take out is always good MsP

Re: Whats For Supper?

MsP - wishing you all the best and hope as next week comes life starts to brighten up.

Thanks to all the well wishes - I think I am going to be a bit unwell for the next few weeks so just something that I'll have to manage. Just about to go to lunch with my boyfriend so looking forward to it.

Dinner tonight could be anything at this stage but I'm craving home made chicken breast burgers smile with tonnes of salad!!

jamacian oxtail soup, cornbread.    So happy . My wife found a ( almost literal) hole in the wall  take out Jamacian restaurant about 5 mins drive from our house  that has amazing food. The owner and her helper have to dance around each other behind the postage stamp sized counter which is just inside the front door.  I bought some jerk pork and rice and peas for lunch tomorrow .    yummy  yummy  yummy

Re: Whats For Supper?

Hope everyone who's feeling unwell or "down" feel better soon crossed

Busy week. Son arrived without much warning Sunday- sent him out to buy pide (so so). Monday was veal osso bucco (I state "veal" because so often they try to pass off beef as veal) over soft polenta with steamed green beans; Tuesday: chicken, swiss brown, baby spinach and fresh sage risotto; Wednesday: my son cooked steaks which we had with various sides; Thursday: a Mediterranean-style seafood soup: last night: Atlantic salmon fillets with sides.

My daughter's just rung to say she's on her way (her brother left 30mins ago) so mad rush to wash linen.

Tonight will be pea and ham soup with rolls. Just soaked the peas and I'm about to start the bread dough.

Making thai green curry tonight.  Last time I made it totally from scratch for the first time (I'd used shop brought pastes before) using one of Jamies recipes and it was a revelation.  I'll never use the jar stuff again!

I've made Jamie's curries using his paste recipes aswell, gorgeous aren't they.  thumbsup

Tonight will be  Pescado a la Veracruzana,(made from scratch) with spinach (home-grown) and roasted new potatoes.
OK these aren't really authentic sides but I have Spinach and  new potatoes that need eating, this will be washed down with Margaritas  big_smile

Re: Whats For Supper?

Spiced roast chicken (sweet paprika, ground coriander, chili powder and a few others) with roast potato chips. Pretty simple, but the kids love it. Finish it off with a couple of drinks for the chef. Cheers
