Re: Whats For Supper?
I made the family fish and chips this evening. This is a huge treat for them, as I don't eat fish at all, and they're all coeliac, so normally if we're out they can't eat things in batter. I made the batter with half chickpea flour to half a plain gluten free mix, and used soda water to make it nice and light. It turned out a treat, and was so crispy I could hear the crunch as they ate it. The look of joy on the kids face was worth the smell, although I do have the ventilation running at full blast now, to get reid of it! ![]()

Sounds delicious, you are one clever mum cook
This eve is cous-cous royale, i prefer the vegs, the meats i'll leave to the others....meat balls, lamb, chicken...
Tomorrow i'll make Kafta (Lebanese mini meat balls) to accompany what ever is left.

Re: Whats For Supper?
Predictably, my daughter was "miffed" when chicken in coconut milk was not on the menu last night (Hint: Darling, give Mum a heads up when you're coming up, please).
Hacving said that, she had seconds of the pea and ham soup with h/m rolls.
So, as she has to be back at work in Sydney tomorrow morning, we had "lundinner"/dinlunch (a mix of lunch and dinner at 4pm (!) ).
I quadrupled the quantities so she had food for her and her flatmate to eat for a night or so.
She's just left. Can feel a *major* "hunger attack" coming on around 9-10pm.
