You really know how big a kitchen can be when you have to clean ALL of it.
I'm sorry Birdymum, I know it's wrong to laugh at someones misfortune, but I had to wipe my eyes after reading that!
Joy, I'm so glad that you've got your daughters cat near you again.
Joobes, my old Jack Russell used to do that. Tina just walks around eyeing it suspiciously, while moving any toys she thinks it might swallow!

Re: My pet just
Birdymum, I empathise with you! Reminds me of when the jar of pasatta was dropped (damp hands), breaking the tiles and spewing 680ml of tomato sauce all over the place.
Bronte was keen to "help" clean up. As well as slurping it up, she (of course) walked in it spreading "tomato red" paw prints from the kitchen to the rest of the (cream coloured) carpet.
Carpet cleaner required!
Oil. Not as visible to clean (at first) and slippery. Don't envy you ![]()

Re: My pet just
The bench tops, cupboard doors and the bags of groceries it had spilled into were done and was down to mopping the floor by 8pm that night.
Next time she wants to make biscuits to take to class I will make sure the shopping is put away first and the oil pan is nowhere near for her to leave out.

My daughter has moved so close I think I can count her cat Miso as my pet again! She is settling into the new flat. Her favourite place is perched on the top of a spare mattress that is standing up against a wall! She always loves to be up high!
(That's the cat, not my daughter!)
Joy how wonderful that your daughter has moved close to you but it would be funny if she was sitting up high instead of the cat
Maree that sounds like an awful mess, hope it all came out of the carpet. Hope Bronte wasn't sick from eating tomato.

Re: My pet just
Thanks birdymum. Forgot to mention the broken glass all over the floor as well. All survived, though.

Dogs are really good Worktop Surfers ![]()
We currently have a Coon Hound puppy we're fostering prior to her flying over to the UK for re-homing on May 16th. When we took over her care she was barely 6 weeks old, really thin and extremely tiny. Now she's flight fit and has had everything bar her final medical check, which happens a couple of days before she flies. She has also more than doubled her weight in a month. She's a real character and had bonded well with out dog Rosie.
One really "ooer" moment is that she's going to the same town in Yorkshire that my partner grew up in.

For the curious, you should be able to see the progress of the puppy here:

It must be hard to know you have to give her up. She's adorable.
