Kitchen Cleaning Tips
Today I was cleaning the oven, a job I hate. And as I there scrubbing away, I wondered if anyone had any tips to make it easier.
This led me to think that there is so much experience on the forums, there must be loads of great tips to be shared.
So here's one I got from my sister-in-law, to clean a burnt on spill on a ceramic hob, wipe it with a damp cloth, then scrub it with a sugar cube. It's abrasive enough to get things off, but won't scratch the glass. ![]()

White vinegar shines the metals...taps, bathroom and kitchen, i also use a few drops in water to clean shop bought fruits and vegs.
Bay leaves in dried ingredients keep the moths away.
Flour deters ants.
Lemon rinds deter cats in the garden.
Lemon cuts avoid nasty fridge smells.
Mix of Barcarbonate of Soda & Vinegar kill nasty smells...WC, etc...sons WC is where i use it every other day
Rice grains in salt avoid humidity.
Barcarbonate of Soda is health friendly, even cleans stained teeth ![]()

Line the bottom of the oven with foil or leave a large tray in the bottom to collect all the drips and wipe out weekly to avoid anything getting baked on.
If anything does get stubborn to remove place a tray of hot water in the oven and turn on low to allow the steam to soften the dirty spot

Um, I thought everyone had self-cleaning ovens these days. I refuse to buy one that isn't self-cleaning when we get a new one. I love that feature.

That is what I like the most. If you have good professional kitchen cleaning around then their is no need of wasting effort and time on it

Re: Kitchen Cleaning Tips
I keep my pantry items (spices, cans, etc) in small tubs. That way when I want to clean out a shelf I don't have to remove each item one at a time.
About once a week or so I disinfect all door handles, refrigerator handles, light switches with chlorine.
Buying a cordless vacuum was the best thing I ever did. I pull it out every day to pick up crumbs in the kitchen.
Ditto on the self-cleaning ovens. Get thee quick to an appliance store!
