I was just thinking that I have never made a meatloaf either!  Neither have I eaten one and it is quite a popular thing to eat here in the U.S.  I've always wanted to make one.

I've always wanted to make a souffle but I am terrified.

I try my hand at various soups but I can never make them right.  I love clam chowder but it was horrible when I made it.  Same with mushroom soup.

I made a souffle about a month ago...wasn't that hard and it was amazing! I made a fresh raspberry/blackberry souffle.

omg Mummza! I use this recipe and it's the best in my opinion!

http://www.marthastewart.com/315282/all … n-meatloaf

Remember to use FRESH bread crumbs NOT dried or panko (same thing really) and actually I never used celery in mine and I dont use the veal either just 1/2 beef and 1/2 pork (lean) the rosemary is a good addition and the glaze is better than just smearing on ketchup... hope you try! smile

I do plan to make one sometime when there are enough people here to eat it .

What have you never cooked and plan to try cooking?

You don't have to wait for a big family gathering, Mummza.  Try making a mini-meatloaf (just use a very small loafpan).  Meatloaves can be made ahead and frozen (allowing you to just pop one in the oven after a long day working).

What would I like to make?  Poached chicken or fish.  I've never made it, but it will have to be made for one or two (as we have one fussy eater who won't try it).

Re: I have never cooked ,,, but will try to make.....

good point Kaitlyn , I could split the mix into mini loaf pans so that there is just enough for my darling to eat . ( it is only him that eats meat here at the moment )
Freezer space is at a premium in my house as we made a decision just to have a very very small freezer part f the fridge as we live so close to the shops. at the moment its packed full as a freind of ours just bought us sone rose veal from her farm. I need the family to all come along so it can be eaten and I can have some space back !

I used to borrow a fish kettle and gently poach a salmon some times , but my neighbour has now moved so no fish kettle to borrow any more. Poaching fish I found easy , just cook i gently in the poaching liquid.

Re: I have never cooked ,,, but will try to make.....

Hi all, I'm still trying to find the ultimate meatloaf recipe. I loathe tomato:/.

Followed bcrain's link but it's no longer working.

Martha has (gasp) 57 meatloaf recipes.

Any idea which one bcrain is raving about? Glaze not tomato.

Life's too short for yucky meatloaf.

Thanks  thumbsup
