Maximum Respect, 15 Cornwall is Boom!
Amazing meal, superb service,great night. 10th Nov.
All course's were superb. Lobster risotto and salt beef were standout!
Herbal Cola Rocked!
Well done to all involved. Also enjoyed Union Jacks.
Gordon Ramsays on Hospital Rd. was the best meal we have ever had, on Monday.7 courses , 3 hours of bliss!
Also Bah Mih 11 gave us superb food, visit them at their new Shoreditch Cafe.
Big shout to Street Feast & Kerb, loved Friday at Hackney. Yum Bun and Ice Cream.
Also River Cottage Plymouth and the Bakery at Plymouth. Amazing food. R.C. standout meals, both of them.
Back in Bavaria, more great food, real bread, hurrah!

Goose , what bread do you call real bread ?
Why do you not consider the UK to have real bread ?

My daughter has said how good the Gordon Ramsey restaurant is as she is lucky enough to have been a few times .
As you know I love going to Fifteen , fifteen Cornwall being by the beach has a bit of a different atmosphere to Fifteen London.
I have plans to get to the River Cottage but not sure when.
Looks like you have been Avignon a great feast Goose .

Bavaria is a really cool place, especially in winter. No ten foot santa's/tastless Wilkinson iluminated sh!te on their houses. Glühwein and Bratwurst keeps the cold out.
Real bread, you know it when you have it. Fosters beer/ a pint of Hop Back Summer Lightning or a Kristall Weissbier, Thatchers cider perhaps? that’s the difference. Taste structure ingredients.
When I first visited Bavaria, my girlfriend picked up a loaf knocked it and said this is real bread. The Germans make a concertina movement with their hands and say English bread ha ha ha! British food is the best in the world, but alas our bread is pants!
I put bread in the fridge in Germany, not a good idea, almost got the boot from my girlfriend. Now I understand why, I never put bread in the fridge.
We have some OK. Bakeries around, perhaps someone names them in another thread.
Bakery Plymouth (Date and Pecan Rye is good, some things are not as good).
Exploding Bakery Plymouth, these guys are cool, try the Lemon Polenta cake.

I'm going to take issue with you saying that British bread .
When I was a child , we had a bakers truck ( nowadays the bread sold would be called 'artisan bread' )that came round to the houses several times a week , there were also many small bakers shops .
These declined with the supermarkets becoming more prominent in the high street .
That said for many years I remember a loaf similar to the sliced loaf we know today , it came wrapped in waxed paper and was an uncut loaf.
The sliced loaf is for many a great invention , the British are not alone in eating this type of bread , it can also be bought on the continent and in Aamerica . I am sure other places as well but I have not visited those countries so I can't comment.
Many British people now make their own bread using a breadmaker , there is a good selection of flours and yeasts avalible.
Artisan bakers are becoming more popular again . Through farmers markets , small businesses and other means.
British bread might not be to your taste but you can easily find good bread if you want.

Standard fine crumb soft white bread is pretty standard here but there are many other options now with all the immigration , different cultures have brought what I consider to be good bread here. My fathers generation that immigrated to Canada from italy actually hated the soft white bread so much they used it as the basis for making fun of the wasp population that was here. They had a term for them, Mangia Cake( Cake Eaters), it came to mean anything typically WASPish.

The higher % of bread bought/sold in the UK is made with too many ingredients, not good ones.
In Bavaria this is not the case.
