Liquidiser recommendations
I want to get a liquidiser and I want one that:
*actually liquidises rather than leaving chunky bits
*is easy to clean but doesn't have a removable base
any recommendations?

Re: Liquidiser recommendations
I have been using a stick blender for years, love it as it has a metal base that can be inserted into a hot pot of veggies and turn it into soup right in the pot. Cleans up easily as it detaches from the motor and goes into the sink for washing up.
Some are better than others with those and more expensive isn't always better. Make sure it has steel bottom that detaches easily and a blending head that circulates well.

Re: Liquidiser recommendations
I've got a stick blender already (on to my second actually) and it's just not cutting it for all jobs.
I've heard of vita-mix.
Anyone tried a commercial brand? Some seem to be roughly the same price range as kitchen aid.
Anyone got a magimix one? (though that's almost like asking is your second car a Jag).

Re: Liquidiser recommendations
I have a kitchen aid blender that I have been very pleased with , some years ago I was instumental in the school buying 2 kitchenaid blenders that they use for making fruit smoothies .
The stick blender that I have is a cuisinart one .
I have seen a demonstration of the vitamix machine . The usual
Demonstration. Where they make vegetable soup that gets hot through the blades spinning do fast .
And they make icecream putting ice ( I think ) in the blender and this freezes the other ingredients.
In the demonstration they make a big thing about putting a small piece of cabbage in everything .. As its good for you and as it blends so smoothly that you can't taste it . ( so they say ) ...
So cabbage and chocolate icecream anyone ?

Re: Liquidiser recommendations
I don't know much about the cuisinart blender and what it can manage .
The kitchenaid blender has about 5 different settings , one setting is particularly for crushing ice and another is for blending soup.
The blender is easy to use and has a motor that starts gradually over a few seconds to help prevent motor strain.
I have had a kitchen aid blender for at least 12 years ,probably much longer .. Can't remember .. The years wizz by so fast !

Re: Liquidiser recommendations
mummza, what model have you got?
I'm not sure we have cuisineArt here. Are they the same as http://www.cuisinart.com.au/index.php/h … s/blending (sometimes we see different names for the same products to the US)
