Re: Whats For Supper?
Following on for our Christmas Lunch...
The BBQ didn't evenuate sadly because of bad weather....so, our daughter & her partner cooked a nice beef (from the farm) roast with roasted kumara (sweet potato) & roasted pumpkin & with boiled skins-on new-season potatoes (from my FIL's garden), minus some green beans, as, they forgot, whoops!...oh! also a homemade gravy & Yorkshire pudding that our future son-in-law made, too!
For dessert..my MIL made meringues which we had with whipped cream & strawberries & some homegrown raspberries from my FIL & when we had polished that yummy
food down...we had to make room for a slice of my daughters partner's plum tart/flan - the plums were picked a few days ago from all the plum trees on the farm here!
Plus, we had some nice sparkling white & red grape juice!
Mmmm! Maree, I like the sound of your delicious Xmas dinner that you shared with your lovely family last nite!
...a question for you my dear - what are "Balmain bugs" please?!
I'm looking forward to reading all your Christmas lunch/dinner menus!
Cheers to you, Ashen, Maree & All! ![]()

Re: Whats For Supper?
Hi Kris. Balmain bugs: difficult to describe seafood creatures. Will Google it and try to send you a link later today. Family weren't here last night. They are coming this arvo for a belated Christmas and son's birthday tomorrow.
Last night I hosted some friends who were at a loose end for the day. We got together, sorted a budget, planned a menu and I cooked. I've done this for the last few years.
Have to make the birthday cake now. Will Google later and try to get that link to you.

Re: Whats For Supper?
Maree the first link makes them look scary LOL....but the recipe link makes them look so yummy!
I had duck breast with cranberry glaze, roasted butternut squash risotto and peas with chopped boiled egg topped with bearnaise.
