Where and what was the best thing you have eaten?
Hi, first post here
What was the best dish you ever ate and where was it that you ate it?
Mine was on board the queen Mary 2 cruise ship in the queens grill restaraunt. i started with Crab & Baby Shrimp Thermidor in a Parmesan Brioche, my main was Lobster Américaine Flambé with Cognac, Truffle, Wild Mushroom Risotto and for my dessert i had Chocolate and Raspberry Crêpe Soufflé with Oranges with Vanilla Sauce,
Absolutely delicious

Sikandari Raan at the Bukhara restaurant in New Delhi (within the Hotel Maurya Sheraton & Towers).
It was around 25 years ago but I remember it to this day.
Cheers

For me it was the first time I had Tornados Rossini, cooked by an Italian chef who had a very well known restaurant in Paignton, Devon. Nobody else has ever matched it.

I love Sashimi, that's the real original taste from sea.

Best thing was a perfect apple. It was a royal gala and it was so incredible i rang mr rabbit at work to tell him about it. I still remember the light in the room when I ate that apple.

Tuna steak cooked over an open fire with my dad and brothers on a stone beach in the south of France when I was about 13. We ate with a bottle of local red wine and incredible fresh bread. Unforgettable!

Tree ripen Nectarines and more of nature's candy at a farm fruit stand in central California.
Close second would be lobster bisque, surf & turf and apple tart at Geoffrey's in Malibu. ![]()

Sorry Jamie, but the best thing I ever ate was at Gordon Ramsay's Maze restaurant at the London hotel. It was a beet root salad with mascarpone, balsamic vinegraitte and pine nuts. I don't even LIKE beets but somehow this dish was beautiful, delicious and life changing. I've tried to replicate it many times, always a dismal failure but I can't get the thought of this dish out of my mind.
