Yes, apart from it being a pain to type, it is intrusive. Don't think thumbs up or down is a good idea either as it is open to possible abuse. We tend to acknowledge posts as it is now.

And as an aside....how about an indicator to show whether the poster is on/offline....perhaps just under the username...
At the moment I have to go to the forum home page, scroll to the bottom to see who is on-line...

Like...has overtaken "Nice" since the advent of facebook and twitter....hmmmm Nice....

hello again..long time no see.....I am back to find a much fresher website that I have to admit is TOO white...I LOVE the tomato on my profile/posts...
like button not necessary....love more the option to comment in words....like buttons have become the easy way out and people have a hard time to express....
