10 recipes, Jamie?
Hi, I have just discovered TED on NetFlix. I was looking forward to finding those 10 recipes you discussed, so I could learn to cook more naturally for my children. I grew up on "fish sticks and tater tots" all frozen and baked, when my mother worked 3 jobs at a time to support us kids and I now find myself in the same situation. I am sure my kids could not identify even half of the vegetables you showed on there, and I would love to learn how to cook real food. My problem is budget. I am a single mom, working full time just barely scraping by to pay the bills and needing to feed my children. I have very little time, and I'm so tired by the end of the day. I only know how to make salad naturally. The rest comes from frozen meals and high-carb foods because they are more filling at a lower cost. If I could learn those 10 recipes you mentioned on your show, making them easy and most of all AFFORDABLE, what would they be? Thanks you. It would really mean A LOT.

Re: 10 recipes, Jamie?
Here is my suggestion on what can be a healthier option: http://thecornishfishmonger.co.uk/fish-for-kids ..... boneless and skinless Cornish fresh fish that is rich in Omega3 and with good value for money. Use it to make healthy quick meals, e.g. prawn stir fry, fish pie, salmon burger, fish risotto etc. See recipes for children on FITD site. http://www.fishisthedish.co.uk/category … r-children Or search for seafood recipes on The Cornish Fishmonger Site http://thecornishfishmonger.co.uk/seafood-recipes
Hope it helps.

Hi FishMonger - thank you for your input into the forums over the last week or so.
I am going to refer you to this thread regarding spam in the forums; please consider it a warning to keep external links to a minimum. http://www.jamieoliver.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=33147
As I stated recently (http://www.jamieoliver.com/forum/viewto … 56#p691656), I don't have a problem with users referring to their personal blogs or websites, as long as they are contributing to discussion and not going overboard with it.
We have a lot to deal with as far as spam goes, so if the community feel that you're clogging things up then it may induce a ban.
If you have any questions, do let me know.
Thanks,
M

Wow Merlin, editing in the spirit of Bob here!!!!
Netgirl, not sure what recipes you are specifically referring to, but Jamie has posted loads of recipes on here, those from 15 min meals are especially developed with experts to make sure they are healthy, quick and fairly cheap.

@Merlin I knew I liked it when I saw the title "administrator"
@netgirl After a little surfing I came up with this site....
http://rocknrollghost.com/2010/03/26/ja … rican-town
which in turn lead to this site

You really should check out the 15 minute meals though. 30 minutes as well while your at it. Making large batches of soups, chilis, stews, casseroles etc. and freezing in portions can save a money and time as well. Include your kid(s) as well so they will learn how to feed themselves.
