Re: Whats For Supper?
Thanks Kiwi. Regret they sent hubby back home again! All rather complicated. The Peking Spare Ribs were delicious. Love it when the sauce runs down your fingers and chin and you make a thorough mess of yourself, lol.
Happy Australia Day to you Maree.
Tonight it will be scampi and chips - not homecooked ![]()

Hope your OH is ok Thistledo.
I made chicken stock yesterday, some to fill the freezer and a portion went toward making soup with white turnips, carrots, shallots, celery, snow peas, bok choy and chicken. Also had fresh dill and parsley to add . . . love fresh dill in soups.

I do hope all goes well for your OH, Thistledo.
Tonight we're having roast leg of lamb (from our local farmer, which I helped to butcher) with roast potatoes, green beans, Brussels sprouts and my daugher is making creme brulees for pudding, and a belated birthday cake (coffee and walnut) for middle daughter.

Re: Whats For Supper?
What we would (should) have had yesterday. Roast pork. Going to do a James Martin method with the apples. Quarter an apple, place it on base of roasting pan, dot with butter and a little sugar. Pour a very small amount of water around the apple and place the joint on top. When the pork is cooked, remove the apple (which is now wonderfully caramelised), leaving all the juices for the base of an excellent gravy. Can't wait.
