Re: Ask me a cooking question
Hello Jamie, I write to you from Mexico. I have 2 questions about a recipe that I saw in your TV-Show (Fox-life), many time ago.
I can not remember the name of this recipe but you roasted a pork leg into the embers (red hot coal), like a specific reference, you made other you had a rectangular hole in the garden, I suppose you put the coal direct on the sand or on little stones. You prepared the pork leg and then you put a rotating roaster along the hole to roast the pork leg. In this occasion you connected a special device (I guess a mechanical device) to make rotate the roaster. You talked about the special effect by cooking, spinning and very slowly.
1.- Could you share with me this special recipe?
2.- Could you help me to know how its called this mechanical device to make the roaster rotate? Where can I buy or order this special device?
Thanks a lot and please don´t stop ever to cooking…!!!!
Best regards

Re: Ask me a cooking question
Thank you Maree, i was looking for more information based in the word "rostisserie" and now i have an idea very clear about it. I think Jamie used in that recipe a mechanical device to rotate the spit slowly, it semmed like an old device, maybe made with an old clock mechanism.
Best regards, and thank you again.

I remember that show. He had an old clock turning the spit which he claimed was an antique find or as we say, 'flea market find'. You might find a modern spit is more affordable and easier to clean.
