I can't ask your Kids, and they've never tasted my Burgers anyway.....
If they had tasted mine, I'd win hands down

Briit-fin, Wine-o, Mummza....
You are all correct in that YOUR home-made burgers taste the best.
...even better when you can buy the meat and mince it yourself. I buy cheap braising steak (I shop at Morrissons Rogerstone) and they always have a big display of braising steak which usually comes from the "chuck" of beef. Choose a piece which has an oval piece of meat in the centre of the steak...this will be the next cut alongside the "rib of beef". You can then trim the beef before mincing.
I am always limited to funds but I found a very reasonably priced mincer/sausage maker....and a burger former at "Lakeland" in Cardiff.....the both items were no more than about £40.
With these items I have made endless home-made sausages and plentiful amounts of burgers....if you have the patience to buy quality meat allbeit....a secondary cut of meat, and trim and mince it yourself, you can add whatever seasonings to your own liking and most of all cook the burger yourself to meet your own approval.
I truly understand why Britt-fin, Wine-o and Mummza say they make the best burgers......processed stuff doesn't even come into the equation....home made is best....whoever makes it!!

Exactly the point, Terry, Home-made you control exactly what goes in your Burger, So you know precisely what has gone in, and more importantly, what hasn't.....
