Replacement car keys, There must be another way!

I lost my one of my car keys for my Zafira. I know the main dealer would charge loads, so checked out internet Keys shops. Wow, first one said round about £140, next £155.
Hay, there must be a cheaper way?
We all have cars, we all need keys?
Does anyone have a way of getting them cheaper?

No !
The remote locking had broken on keys as my daughter kept tapping her finger nail on the rubber part of the key and it went into a hole breaking the little electronic connection.
I have to bypass the central locking by turning the key twice as its so expensive to get replacement keys !

But if you don't want a key with central locking , some locksmiths hold car key blanks  and will cut you a new key . It's still pricey but no where near as expensive .

I think the Zafira is a coded key....(Electronic) the blanks are all pretty similar, but you need to program the key to suit the vehicle....hence the cost...

With my wallet and mobile on some shelves near our bed. One of the kids probably got at it. It has happened before but it usually takes me a few days to find it. It has been a few months now, so I have given up on finding it.
The baby might have thrown it in the bin or something.

You can bypass the code if when you turn the key in the car door you turn it a second time straight after you have turned it the first time. I found this out as our key broke and the central locking plus alarm had been activated when the car had been last locked.  It was suggested to me that I try this to see if I could get into the car .. It worked and that's how I've been opening the car ever since !

Found it.
It was in a toybox under a bed.
I was sure I had checked it.
