Re: which food you like from save with jamie

I tried the cassoulet first, but instead of the sausage I used pork (it was marinaded for a bbq in autumn and then frozen, because we didn't need as much meat then - I felt it had to be used up soon now - I think I preferred meat to sausage actually!)

The meatloaf with feta was very good too. Only that I exchanged the carrots for a red pepper (because it had to be use up and I am not too fond of big chunks of cooked carrot). I preroasted the pepper like Jamie did with the carrots to enhance the flavor too.

Yesterday I made an altered version of the panzanella: I omitted the olives and capers (didn't have them), but added ruccola. I also didn't use the sausage topping because I was serving it with a classic German "Fleischkäse" - and I thought it would be too much. I wish I had had olives though wink

Cassoulet is a one pot dinner with white (garbanzo) beans and bits of meat in a sauce. The French version of baked beans in a way (different flavor though). Simple, cheap, savory.

Panzanella is an Italian bread salad using tomatoes, old bread, and a bunch of flavoring ingredients.

I am not sure if you find the recipes from the book online, but if you google there will be lots of recipes for cassoulet and panzanella - every cook has their own recipe wink
