Rob Skinner is a waiter at Jamie's Italian in Bath. Not content with marathon shifts at work, he's upping his game and running in this year's London Marathon on April 25th.
"I decided to run this year's Marathon for a number of reasons. Firstly to prove to myself that I can! 26.2 miles is a pretty long way and preparing for it takes a lot of effort and self-discipline. Secondly the training is really good for my health not least because it has made me give up smoking ad lose my pot belly! Finally and most importantly it's to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support (www.macmillan.org.uk) who provide practical, medical, emotional and financial support to help improve the lives of people living with and affected by cancer.
I've been training 6 days a week since mid-January and by the time I run in the Marathon I will have already done about 500 miles in training. I'm hoping to raise £1000 for Macmillan."
