Our new team in Westfield are currently in training ahead of the opening in mid July.  Traditionally the end of day 2 is a chance for the management team to showcase their creativity and theatrical ability in the form of a highly interactive gameshow style quiz.  The whole team is split into six teams and have to answer a variety of different questions in different categories covering all the training they've been given during the first 2 days. 

Jamie's Italian in Westfield will be the first of our restaurants to have an old fashioned ice cream van parked outside selling "Smash ups" - ice cream mixed with fruit and nuts - so the quiz understandably had a distinct ice cream theme!  The managers all dressed up as Italian ice cream vendors and the contestants had to compete in bonus rounds such as blind folded  sundae making and hands free ice cream scoffing.  Everyone really entered the spirit of it and there were plenty of shouts and cheers of encouragement!

General Manager Stefan Fouche said "It's a really great way of rounding off a pretty intense couple of days for all the guys plus we get to let our hair down a little and, more importantly, we get to see how much information has actually been soaked up!"

On Wednesday Jamie made a surprise visit at the end of the day to meet the team, have a beer and see the finished restaurant.  The team were really excited to meet him, "it makes what they're all striving towards much more real when the boss stops by" said Stefan.
