The pestle and mortar was used by the ancient Egyptians, Romans and Greeks and today it’s still used from India to Italy to grind herbs and spices and make pastes for cooking. Our pestle and mortar is a traditional Italian shape and looks great on the bench top. Because it’s made of non-porous marble, no tiny particles get trapped in the bowl and there’s no cross-contamination of strong smells. Use it for handmade pesto or guacamole or to bash up nuts and spices. 15cm diameter x 7.5cm height.
