The pestle and mortar was used by the ancient Egyptians, Romans and Greeks and today it’s still used from India to Italy to grind herbs and spices and make pastes for cooking. Our pestle and mortar is a traditional Italian shape and is small enough to store and clean easily. Because it’s made of non-porous marble, no tiny particles get trapped in the bowl and there’s no cross-contamination of strong smells. The perfect size for making flavoured salt or spice rubs for meat. 10cm diameter x 5cm height.
