Terracotta's amazing natural cooling properties have been used for centuries to keep wine and water cold. Now British designer Russell Pinch has taken this ancient technology and given it a lovely modern shape to create a gorgeous and effective wine cooler. Unglazed terracotta absorbs water, then as it evaporates, it cools what's inside. All you need to do is submerge your cooler in cold water – as icy as possible – for 15 minutes, then when it's thoroughly soaked, take it out and pop in your bottle to keep your glass topped up with something lovely and cold.
