If you fancy making the ginger syrup used in our Sangria Latina birthday cocktail from scratch, here's the simple recipe!
Make a simple sugar syrup by bringing the sugar and water to the boil in a saucepan. Simmer for 78 minutes until the sugar has dissolved and the liquid is clear, then leave to cool. Squeeze 50ml fresh ginger juice (it's best to do this in a juicer if you have one), then stir it into the sugar syrup. Leave to settle for 5 minutes and you have a fantastic home-made ginger syrup.
