Schoolgirl Martha Payne, whose blog Never Seconds about the state of her school dinners, is releasing her book to help feed African pupils.
Jamie appeared alongside Martha and her dad David on BBC’s The One Show on Monday, and has continually supported her campaign to blog about her often woeful school food.
Jamie said: “Martha is amazing. To be just nine-years-old and to keep the fight for better school dinners alive is really incredible and it was great to finally meet her.
“Not only that, but to help children in poor countries get the food that they need to continue their education is inspirational. I wish her luck and I hope you all support this campaign in any way you can.”
Her book, Never Seconds – the Incredible Story of Martha Payne, hits shelves on November 15th and every copy sold will provide 25 school meals for children in Malawi through the Mary’s Meals charity.
Martha’s blog caused an internet sensation when she took pictures and wrote reviews of her occasionally disappointing school dinners – she even has a daily ‘hair count’ noting how many offending articles she finds in her meals, although she admits it’s not many these days!
