Getting fruit into kids at breakfast time is always difficult, especially with all those tempting and colourful cereals; but Jamie has a surefire way of doing it with his breakfast smoothie.

Using frozen fruit, honey, ginger, nuts and oats he blends the perfect breakfast drink – Buddy, Jamie’s two-year-old boy, definitely enjoys it!

This is the first in a series of clips in which Jamie cooks up some cracking breakfast ideas, including a super-quick eggs florentine and benedict, huevos ranchero and overnight muesli.

So whether it is the deepest winter in the heart of Essex (see video) or a summer breakfast outside, this is the perfect smoothie.
