Under the watchful eye of Newcastle legend Bobby Robson's statue, MoF's Joanna Lacey set off on her torch relay.
Starting her run at the hallowed St James' Park, Joanna's leg of the torch's tour was definitely a Geordie talking point.

Working for Jamie's Ministry of Food, at Byker's East End Health, Joanna has a passion and determination to teach people across the whole city of Newcastle about food, nutrition and cooking to ensure they can choose a healthy lifestyle.
She is currently delivering Jamie’s Ministry of Food cookery courses, as well as teaching primary school children about where their food comes from, how it's grown and how it can be cooked.

Speaking after her leg of the relay which took place last Friday, Jo (25) said: “It was a completely amazing experience as well as very surreal to be involved and I am just very proud to have been asked to carry the torch.”

Find out all about the Ministry of Food and all the amazing work Jo does.

The next runner will be MoF's Lisa McLoughlin, running Weds 20th June in Thirsk.
Check out Lisa's video here in which she talks about her pride at being selected.
