This Friday we’re back at Jamie & Jimmy’s Southend Café, in a prime location on the end of the pier with great access to amenities and local fish restaurants.
If that sounded like estate agent spiel, that’s because this week we have the one and only Kirsty Allsop, star of Location, Location, Location, in the kitchen. She’ll be cooking up some Indian street food, in the form of pani puri. If you don’t know what that is, it’s a delicious crispy pastry traditionally stuffed with spices, chutney, potato and onion.
Elsewhere, Jamie gets stuck in to some shellfish recipes while Jimmy prepares his own charcuterie, then the pair head to the Sussex to attempt to revive another old British classic, huckle-my-buff. If you don’t know what that is, you’ll have to wait for the show.
In the meantime, here’s last week’s recipe for Amanda Holden’s beautiful veggie moussaka to whet your appetite. You could even cook it up for the family to enjoy during the show.
