Story by jim tanfied

Jamie's Italian in departures at Gatwick Airport has finally taken off.

This beautiful restaurant overlooking the runway is unlike anything else airside at the North Terminal and thanks to its bakery is a real game changer, according to Jamie.

Not only is there a restaurant and a bakers, but across from Jamie's Italian, overlooking the terminal concourse, is a Union Jacks bar.

You simply cannot miss it thanks to two enormous dinosaur murals on the exterior by artist and Jamie's pal Jay Jay Burridge.

Prosciutto hangs all around the interior, while all the pasta served is made fresh on site, even the mozzarella is exclusively sourced for the restaurant.

And Jamie loves it, watch the video for his take on the project and how he is revolutionising airport food.
