Fickle Friends have won Jamie’s Summer Jam, in association with Birra Moretti, and will play at the Big Feastival at the end of the month. The battle of the bands talent search was looking for the best unsigned act and after a public vote the Brighton-based outfit came through. Check out their amazing Jamie-produced video and track recorded in London last month.
Lead singer Natti Shiner (21) said today (Monday): “It’s so overwhelming at the moment and the last two weeks have been a whirlwind with everyone wishing us luck and voting for us – it’s been completely mad but amazing.
“We can’t wait to play at Feastival, it will be the biggest crowd we’d have played to so really exciting.”
The band beat off 800 entries to make it into the final three acts joining The Dirty Perks and Brightlight City in the public vote.
Jamie said earlier: “All three bands were super-talented and really great guys, any of them would have made great opening acts for our Big Feastival, but Fickle Friends came out top and I’m really pleased for them.
“It’s a great track and will be a real show starter and I can’t wait to see them live. Well done guys.”
Jamie’s Website Editor Jim Tanfield, who helped judge and produce the professionally-filmed videos for the three finalists, added: “It’s humbling to see so much unsigned talent doing such great things. The standard was mind-boggling and I would like to say a personal thanks as well to the other two finalists who showed real passion and dedication to making it as close-fought as possible. They all have great careers ahead of them I’m sure.”
Jamie is co-hosting Big Feastival with former-Blur bassist Alex James on his Cotswolds farm on 31st August and 1st September.
Fickle Friends will be performing alongside household names such as Rizzle Kicks, Basement Jaxx, KT Tunstall and Lianne La Havas as well as chef demos from Jamie, Gennaro Contaldo and many others.
