Story by Alexa Proctor

By now you’ll probably have spotted Jamie showing off his impressive collection of trucker caps. He’s rarely seen without one. He simply loves them and now, a little reluctantly, he’s ready to share with you where they come from.

All Jamie’s caps are made specially for him by Lucky Seven. A bespoke, online company who make the finest embroidered patches and caps in the business. The patches bear the names of the fictional companies found in some of our best loved cult films and tv shows and are worn on trucker and army caps. Anyone can design their own cap online and with over 60 patches and a host of cap and crest colours, you can be part of the gang but not just one of the crowd.

class= Lucky Seven was founded in 2004 by the artist Jay Jay Burridge and what started as a hobby soon became a thriving business. Lucky Seven is now run and managed by Jay Jay and his wife Mel alongside a team of dedicated “mad hatters” from their studio in London. So how did Jamie find them? Jay Jay and Jamie met at a mutual friend’s wedding and it took all of two minutes before Jamie had a hat on his head and a beautiful friendship was born!

But Jay Jay and Jamie have more than their love of checked shirts and trucker caps in common. Some of you may remember Jay Jay from the much loved BBC art show Smart, where he taught a generation of young artists to look at the world through colour tinted sticky black plastic. He now concentrates on his own art and sculpture and is currently preparing for a one man exhibition in LA later this year.

“I’ve always slightly compared my career on television with what Jamie does (to much greater success!) and have an enormous amount of respect for what he has achieved and continues to achieve across the globe. My hope was to always bring my love of art to the children and parents who watched the show and Jamie does this brilliantly through his own love of food. We have many similarities in common which basically boil down to a childish humour, a love of good food and bad hair which is much better kept under a cap!”

‘These guys are amazing, I love the fact you can even design your own! Everyone’s got to have a good cap so check these guys out as these caps are wicked’ says Jamie.

So now’s your chance to win 10 bespoke Lucky Seven caps. Simply follow this link, sign up as a Lucky Seven member and answer the super simple question to enter the prize draw. Every entry will automatically receive a free gift too!
