mrs paisley’s christmas lashings

Thu 10 Dec 2009 @ 17:23 | story by Danny McCubbin

One of the latest eating crazes to hit the UK recently has been “pop up” restaurants. Typically held in someone’s home the hosts cook for an array of people with most of them never having met each other before. This dining experience is certainly not new as it has been very popular in the States for some time now and is sometimes referred to as a “supper club”.

Arthur Potts Dawson, chef and co-owner of Acorn House has worked with Jo Wood to create “Mrs Paisley’s Christmas Lashings” a pop up restaurant at Holmwood House, Kingston in the UK. Arthur is one the UK’s top environmentally conscious chefs. “Mrs. Paisley’s Lashings” is a genuinely innovative venture, offering a pop up restaurant experience that is driven by the importance of moving towards eating in a more eco-conscious and sustainable way.

With Arthur’s expertise and reputation and experience, every feature of the restaurant will be eco-minded. Using ingredients sourced from the greatest producers in the UK as well as those that are grown in Jo’s garden at Holmwood or picked at local allotments the menu will be seasonal, local and of the highest grade.

Open for dinner for 10 nights only, the boutique style restaurant in the grounds of Holmwood - Jo’s own home – provides a unique and spectacular venue to enjoy dinner. Profits from Mrs Paisley’s Lashings will be plowed back into creating Mrs Paisley gardens in schools across the UK where children can learn about growing their own nourishing food. Several of the evenings will be hosted in association with some of the world’s most internationally renowned eco luminaries in order to further promote the vital message about food and the environment.
