Hi Guys,

Happy New Year! We're well into January now and while it might seem like a bit of a distant memory, I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas break. It was great to see everyone chatting on the forums and to hear about all of the delicious things you were cooking up.

On the site this month we're setting out to beat any January blues with a collection of gorgeous comfort-food recipes like moroccan lamb stew and feel good chicken broth. When it’s cold and miserable outside, there's nothing better than huddling up with your loved ones and enjoying a hearty bowl of your favourite food.

There's lots of brilliant stuff coming up in 2012, so keep an eye out for updates on the site. I'm really excited about my charity, the Jamie Oliver Foundation, which is 10 years old this year, so watch out for news and events relating to that.

Big love,
Jamie O xx

New Year, new start

Let's make 2012 the year we have fun in the kitchen. Jamie's Ministry of Food aims to inspire people to love good food by getting them back into the kitchen cooking home-made meals using fresh ingredients. The Ministry of Food programme helps to teach people those basic cooking skills needed to make meals from scratch, making the task of cooking feel so easy. January is a time for New Year's resolutions and healthy eating, so why not try and cook one new recipe every week? We have a number of easy recipes which are guaranteed to warm you up during the current winter months. Why not try dishes such as our delicious vegetarian chilli and mouth-watering beef in black bean sauce. If you're interested in dishes such as this, just visit Ministry of Food for more recipes. Why not pop in to your local Ministry of Food project to learn how to cook a new meal from scratch.
