4. Goochi Fri 07 Nov 2008 22:44 Amazing Pie !!
I believe in home made food. I think people should stop eating junk food and spend a little time in their kitchen. It's more healthy and when you make something in your own kitchen you actually know what's really in the food. It's always fresh and you feel good about yourself.
Thanks Jamie...your love for cooking has made me love my kitchen even more :)
Keep it up!
5. Julie Sun 19 Oct 2008 09:23 I love cooking but reckon that I dont know some of the basic traditional dishes. Made the fish pie. Soooo easy to make, Soooo delicious. Asked my 9 year old to help cook it and hey presto she even ate it & loved it....RESULT!!!! Both me & my daughter will pass this recipie on. Pass it on is exactly what the nation needs.
6. Gill Sat 18 Oct 2008 13:20 We made this fish pie a few days ago, very easy to make and it was delicious, well under a fiver too!! Even better there was hardly any washing up!!

9. June Tue 14 Oct 2008 22:29 The swearing gets on my T*ts, but the program and recipes are great. You are a great inspiration Jamie as are your team. Keep up the good work. I'll help spread the word by emailing your fish pie to 10 of the mums at school. On top of that I'll get the kids to help me cook some meals at half term.
FAB.
10. Hansi Tue 14 Oct 2008 21:36 Hi Jamie,
I am currently watching another episode of Ministry of food,I think the show is great, and although at the moment the pass it on idea may not have been as huge at this point as you had hoped, these people have change their lives because of you, thier health and future!
I havnt tryed any of the recipes yet but I will this weekend, and when I have im going to show my 18 year old, who up until recently thought all egss came from ducks!! (Where did I go wrong??) anyway small steps eh?
11. Diedra Tue 14 Oct 2008 12:03 Oh my lord, this is a recipe for folks on a budget and have never cooked before???? Smoked haddock, salmon, and prawns.....never mind that... in a low income area fresh spinach is unheard of and.... where would I get a chili? What world do you live in child?.....That recipe, as shown, is expensive even on my budget and I don't have any restrictions on money.
You need to come to my house and I'll teach you a thing or two about shopping in an underserved area and low income cooking.
12. wienwardana Thu 09 Oct 2008 14:20 Can't wait to see your new program "Ministry of Food" in Indonesia..but I'm happy I can see your online video.

13. Michaela Scott Thu 09 Oct 2008 07:08 Hi Jamie, your new show is great! my 18 yr old son loves to cook & thats because of your shows, he became a fan around 13yrs old and even requested your books foe xmas. He has told his friends to do this, saying if he can cook....so can they.
Keep up the good work.... it's working here in Australia
14. another_pilot Wed 08 Oct 2008 20:39 Hi Jamie,
i've cooked a fish pie for the first time in my life. Well I wasn't afraid because I've watched as you did it. Thank you for this lesson! I think I've learned well because... it's delicious and melting in the mouth! Thanks a lot, and this recipe is so easy!
I wish you to have a big audience to your brand new show and to have a succes with this project. Oh, but you already have!
I passed this recipe off to my friend, she lives in Spain:o)
15. Ruthi Wed 08 Oct 2008 10:51 Hi Jamie,
I love to cook and taught my girls to cook before they left home and now they cook too. My eldest girl even baked her first loaf of bread last weekend.
After watching your Ministry of Food tonight, I thought perhaps people need to learn to budget as well as to cook. They need to learn that it can be cheaper to eat home cooked meals than takeaways.
We rarely eat takeaway and I am constantly surprised at how cheap fruit and veges are. These make up the bulk of our food. Beans, pasta and legumes of various sorts make terrific cheap meals that are easy to cook and great to eat. They just need to be introduced to the junk food eating public.
Keep up the good work.
Ruthi
16. Emma Wed 08 Oct 2008 09:43 After listening to Jamie on the Chris Moyles show on Radio 1 monday morning and the plan for the team to cook Sizzling Beef, I already some rump steak in the freezer (for which I had intended to cheat and use a pour over black bean & red pepper sauce - my bad!!) .......I decided to join in - and when checking out the recipe on Radio 1's website - I had quite a few of the ingredients, so popped to the supermarket and bought the remainder!

So last night I cooked it - and first ever attempt at egg fried rice (lovely by the way) - my new gorgeous boyfriend was extremely impressed - and I've just ordered the book!!!

Keep up the good work - I am lucky enough to have a fab cook in my dad who has given me the confidence, he only learned from receipe books - but is one of the best cooks I know now!! However I do feel for people who've never had that opportunity - and its so cool to see people suddenly acquire a new found confidence!!

17. Bridget Wed 08 Oct 2008 02:52 Watched the show tonight and really enjoyed it - I love cooking and was lucky because I had great role models in my Mom and Grandma - so your idea to take cooking to anyone and everyone is brilliant. I am a Consultant for Slimming World and we promote healthy eating and cooking from scratch so I will 'Pass it on' in my Group on Thursday.
Keep going, Bridget
18. Mina Tue 07 Oct 2008 23:46 I love your new show: Ministry of Food. You are truly an inspiration to many - I studied 4 years of a catering course but it took your show to get me excited about cooking again - the kids loved the pancakes and hubby wants the recipe!
If this programme doesn't change people's attitude to eating habits then I don't know what will.
19. Rachel Tue 07 Oct 2008 22:51 Absolutely fantastic, love the programme ! I cried watching that little girl eating takeaway on the floor !
I'm a mum to 4 gorgeous children, I enjoy cooking and feel proud that I provide good homemade food for my family,a skill and passion that has been passed down to me from my mum and gran.
You are so right Jamie, sadly for many people this respect for food has been lost along the way.
If anyone can turn that around you can !
20. Jan Mon 06 Oct 2008 19:40 it looks delicious, and so fast en simple...
Let's give it a try!
Lovely to eat in our cold winters in Holland!
thanks for this recipe!
21. Ama Mon 06 Oct 2008 07:34 I just got the signed book! So so happy! Lots of thanks! Ama x
22. Raza Zia Sun 05 Oct 2008 22:27 Hey,
thanks so much for this recipe. You are such an inspiration for me, and other young people like me (im 16). Your ministry of food program is amazing and should be taken on by every family in America. Living in it, I know how the food lifestyle is here, and right now, it's deteriorating. The reason I want to be a cook is because of you, Jamie, and I pray to god I can cook with you when I get a bit older. Thank you so much for all you have done. There should be more jamie olivers in the world.
23. yes Sun 05 Oct 2008 18:04 ya~奧利佛萬歲!!
看起來真好吃。
新鮮的魚貨可不便宜,真是一頓美味又豐盛的可口大餐^0^
yaya~i love you~~
24. melissa Sun 05 Oct 2008 05:48 The name "Fish Pie" scares me a bit-(my mind thinks overcooked fish mush) but watching you make it, and seeing all the fresh ingredients that went into it, I have to try to make it myself.
I think it is a classic English dish, but uncommon in the (Northwest part of the) States. Maybe we can dispel the fears of fish pie one person at a time.
I will make it and PASS IT ON!
P.S. Happy to see Jamie at Home on sale in the US, finally!!!!!
25. Inspired2Cook Sat 04 Oct 2008 00:23 Jamie, you are the best! I was quite emotional after watching your Ministry of Food programme as I was just like one of the women who couldn't cook. I have bought your book today and will first watch many of your videos to get a feel for the basics. Cooking has always terrified me as it was the lack of the basic skills knowledge which stopped me from buying the normal cook books. You are an inspiration, I could hug you!
26. Vanja Thu 02 Oct 2008 11:29 The fish pie is very good!Oliver you are the best!
27. Wendy Thu 02 Oct 2008 10:51 I'm really not a fish lover at all. My husband has got some fantastic fish, which he caught and to be honest, the thought of eating them does not appeal. This recipe could be the solution. It looks delicious and I love mashed potatoes.
28. Tiffany Thu 02 Oct 2008 05:36 This looks really good! I'd love to give it a try...and I also like the idea of using a box grater! Mmmm..
29. Martin Wed 01 Oct 2008 22:16 I like the idea of using the craterbox for vegetables wihout using knifes.
And that pie looks so damn delicious, fishlover over here (A)
