The Job

Our role as a shift supervisor is to create and maintain a world class food emporium for every customer on every shift, demonstrating our passion for food, for Jamie's food philosophies, and for everything Recipease offers, whilst driving sales through energetic service, delivered by an inspirational team.

Experience

We've already had a supervisory job in the past working with at least a small team. We combine honesty and integrity in a busy multi-channel food retail environment. We've proven that we're great communicators and that we're able to really engage with our teams to get the best out of them. We've also shown that we have the ability to impart training and development in a motivational way. It goes without saying that we're passionate about food. Added to that, we've kept ourselves aware of current issues surrounding food and we have a good understanding of Jamie's story and motivation.

+ provide a welcoming atmosphere, where we can naturally develop great customer relationships in our neighbourhood
+ teach people about the concept of Recipease, help them familiarise themselves with our shop and get acquainted with our different offerings
+ encourage people to get stuck in... whether with an Easy to Learn session or during food service
+ share my passion and knowledge about food with customers and our locals, to inspire everyone towards a better food lifestyle
+ know that my customer always comes first, and like it when I relax and have a laugh with my customers and locals
+ motivate my team to deliver exceptional Recipease service to every customer, rewarding great behaviour, and sharing inspirational moments with the team.
+ love to get feedback - good and bad - from my customers, and I use the feedback to help me and my team get better at what we do
+ know that occassionally customers may make complaints to me or my team, and when they do I record the issues appropriately, then seek to personally resolve the problem, and make sure the customer comes back

+ use the till acurrately, and make sure that my focus remains on the customer, whilst adhering to cash management procedures

+ regularly talk to everyone in the shop, as I know that to acheive operational excellentce, we all need to work together
+ communicate with my manager and kitchen team when I plan my shift, so I know what the retail team needs to achieve and to make sure we are working towards the same goal
+ create an energetic atmosphere, so every shift I lead is buzzing
+ act as a champion for product and operation quality
+ know that managing absence is part of my responsibilities, and make sure my team follow the procedures to report absence and cover absent shifts
+ measure and manage the costs in my shop, making decisions that maximise sales and minimise costs with particular focus on meeting labour and waste targets
+ make sure that our opening, handover and closing procedures are followed accurately
+ use the inventory system to review till transactions, measure sales and control cash
+ monitor and improve Recipease standrds for cash management, and cash control, and effectively manage cash shortages
+ know the contacts, order processes and timelines for our nominates suppliers
+ use the stock results, together with sales information, to determine par levels and make the right ordering decisions for food and retail
+ work with the kitchen team to order cleaning products and sundries
+ check all deliveries for quality, match with invoice and order, and input them into the system
+ respond quickly to incomplete order, and to deliveries that don't meet our standards of quality and feedback issues to my manager
+ use information reported on the inventory system to improve stock related decisions, to schedule the right number of people to a shift, and to delegate and follow up on responsibilities during that shift

+ make sure my team know their roles and responsibilities and motivate them to deliver them on every shift

+ talk to my team regularly, communicating standards, promotional information, and local information
+ delegate daily tasks and responsibilities so my team know exactly what they need to fo to contribute to the success of the shift

+ let my team know what 'great' looks like, how it reflects Jamie's style, and how they are going to get there, then I motivate them to strive to be the 'best in class'
+ recognise great performance, and give behaviour related feedback on poor performance in a way that is appreciated by my team
+ tell my team what our customers think, and find out what our customers have said to them, then I feedback to my manager
+ identify training needs amongst my team, and follow up on these needs in a planned and organised way

+ make sure our merchandise is abundant and attractive, and that the displays reflect Jamie's style and flair
+ rotate the point of sale information and displays to march the day part and the season
+ use information about our promotions, use by dates, seasons, to make decusuibs around where to merchandise stock
+ make sure that all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety checks required by law are carried out in a timely manner without fail
+ know that I am accountable for the cleaning of the shop, so I implement the cleaning rota, delegating cleaning responsibilities throughout the shift
+ follow up on delegated cleaning tasks, providing timely feedback to my team
+ look after the shop to prevent maintenance issues arising
+ review maintenance issues and make commercially aware decisions in order to resolve the issue and manage the maintenance budget
+ know that I only work with Recipease approved contractors
