You’ll lead a team of staff in the operation of a world class food retail business. You’ll be responsible for the overall operation of the store, with a majority of your time being spent inspiring, managing and coaching the store team. Your key responsibilities will be to make people decisions, ensure customer satisfaction and champion product quality. You’ll be diligently steering the store’s financial performance and managing health, safety and security for the site.
You'll already have proven management experience leading teams with honesty and integrity in busy muliti-channel food or food retail environments. You need to be numerate and financially aware as well as literate, with the ability to communicate excellently both verbally and in writing. It goes without saying that you must be passionate about food to be successful in this role. Added to that you'll need to be aware of current issues surrounding food and have a good understanding of Jamie's story and motivation.
This job will require lots of active thought and the use of initiative. You’ll:
+ Provide excellent leadership by example to all areas of your store, acting with honesty and integrity and ensuring that the cultural values of the organisation are being promoted at all levels.
+ Inspire your team to achieve excellent results on a daily basis, ensuring motivation levels remain high and encourage your team to participate at all levels in the business.
+ Develop and maintain positive relationships within your team, ensuring that hard work and success are recognised and rewarded in a fair and motivational way. You’ll also develop excellent relationships with your external partners and your store’s local community.
+ Create a customer-first attitude throughout the operation, remaining calm under pressure, motivating and easing your team through difficult periods.
+ Be responsible for the initial training of your team and then for their ongoing development through structured plans. You’ll provide them with coaching and support throughout their time with Recipease.
+ Create, monitor and control operational plans for your store including staffing levels and stock levels with an eye to maximising efficiency and minimising waste.
+ Use accurate reporting and actively seek customer feedback to monitor the performance of your store and analyse trends so that you can adapt your operation best to meet the needs of the market.
+ Contribute to profitability through constant, well planned efforts to increase sales and control the costs of your store.
+ Be familiar with all relevant trading, hygiene, health, safety and employment laws and regulations and ensure that these are always enforced as well as operating strict cash handling procedures and ensuring the safety and security of takings as well as the staff and premises
As a Store Manager you will typically be responsible for 10-15 staff and operate a business with a weekly turnover in the region of £15-25k.
You will have overall accountability for the day to day running of your Recipease store, working closely with the Operations Manager and Head of Franchising. You are expected to consult with the Operations Manager or Head of Franchising on all non-routine decisions (e.g. product supply and quality issues), sales initiatives and HR issues that lead to significant changes (e.g. headcount increases, promotions and staff issues that could lead to dismissal).
