method

Smear the pasta-and-pizza/the_quickest_tomato_sauce">tomato sauce evenly over the pizza base. Tear the artichokes into quarters and scatter over the pizza. Lay over the prosciutto slices and sprinkle the olives over. Crack over the egg and place little torn-up pieces of mozzarella in the gaps. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and season with pepper and a tiny bit of salt. Cook until crisp and golden.

• from Jamie's Italy

ingredients

• 6 tablespoons tomato sauce
• 2 baby artichokes (use good jarred ones)
• 3 slices of prosciutto
• a small handful of good olives, stones removed
• 1 small egg, preferably organic
85g/3oz mozzarella
• extra virgin olive oil
• sea salt and freshly ground black pepper

Hi Jamie!
I saw you in The Iron Chef competing against Mario Bartalli. It was so much fun to watch and your sous chef was Hilarious. I hope you will do it again since it was the best show thay have had so far thanks to you bing there.

I love you recipes, i have all your cookbboks and my grandson loves all your family dinner recipes, he is only 15 months old and eats like a grown up if the food comes from your book.

you put the egg in 1 min before the pizza is done, that way the rest of the pizza is crispy and the egg is soft and runny

22. by @ Pete [Visitor] on Tue 10 Jun 2008 @ 11:11

I haven't tried this pizza yet, but I think I know, how you can do it, because I have seen how cokks make it here at my home town in Italy. You have to put the egg on the pizza immediately AFTER you take the pizza out of the oven. Then it won't be hard, but soft; how you will have it.

I put that pizza on the menus at work,
Work is an italian restuarant in Christchurch, New Zealand.
We thought the pizza was amazing, if ur interested in bouncing ideas off each other.
We got a pizza on the menus, with slowly roasted shoulder of pork, taleggio, thyme, and rocket on top after its cooked, actually i got it out of your jamie's italy.

37. by dukegus on Mon 02 Jun 2008 @ 11:08

I love homemade pizza, and some variety is always good (american pizza is not the best, and a little rubbery too). I can taste i already, as for Lili, Try google, they have a translator that will change the language of the whole page. I know its a hastle, but its a good option, and it will be worth it.
